PORTER ELEMENTARY
Diversity and history distinguish our school. For nearly a century, our school has been the heart of Lincoln Park. We opened our doors as two brand new schools on one campus in 2006-07 to serve a diverse urban community. Ours is one of the larger elementary schools in the district, and one of the more diverse. An exciting mix of cultural backgrounds happens at Porter, where more than half of our students speak another language in the home other than English. While the school population is more mobile than the average elementary school, our neighborhood and our parents are actively involved.
